"Disappointment is my only friend..." the song goes. Oh, well.

I think I made a really big mistake. I forgotten why I actually try to create images. I thought I could actually make a dollar or two, forgetting that 1) I'm not really that good. 2) The economy is the pitts. 3) There are people that have actually gone to college for this to make a living.

In explaination, my image of "Sharing" is my example. I was actually invited to share images with an actual incorporated business. Needless to say, I was extrememly flattered. Who wouldn't want something on an advertising piece? I'd be tickled to see something of mine on a lighter or box. The first two were well recieved, until I actually expressed an interest in getting *shock* paid! I think I must have "stupid" ingraved on my forehead. I got "the letter". You know, the one that says that they have no positions open for hire and have no use for my images, however, they will keep them on file for me....Bull.

I had forgotten the reason I actually pick up a pencil to begin with...because I like to. Because I have images that dance around in my head that need to get out, even though on the trip from my head to the paper they get altered. (Being human, something is always lost in the translation.)

My last work, Sharing, was an honest attempt at advertising art. I think it would really make a nice label for a specialty tea (?). In my love for dragons, I find I still can smile when I look at it, even through the disappointment.

So be it. For love of the doing do I work! The results are yours to gaze upon!
